Mom's 89th birthday was September 3rd.
She had two cakes at the mountain house alone! One the week before with Jimmie's family, and one Labor Day weekend with the rest of the grand and great-grandkids.
This past Saturday, we all (including Aunt Helen) went out to dinner at her favorite restaurant, Popi's.
Mom didn't know all the kids would be there and she was just as pleased as could be. They sure love their 'Biggie'.
So, instead of cake, we all had dessert and Mom's Tira Misu came with a candle.
After the tough time she had with shingles the beginning of the year, and the resulting lingering pains...it was great to see her so happy and content!
